Shooting with Trent went smoothly until it didn't. Totally planned on mixing strobe and daylight on the shoot. Profoto AirB2 on camera with Canon 24-70 is typically the ticket for me. I had some technical issues and couldn't sync. So I went to plan B and shot all available light, no technical issues there. For more images click WORK
Making models cry is getting way to easy for me unfortunately. Working with HMUA Nancy Vela, we discussed how I like to create pictures that go beyond literal when given the opportunity. Before we wrapped the studio part of the shoot she suggested tears. Amazing, I love collaborating with other artists and talent that bring another dimension to what we do.
I don't maintain a studio anymore for for the following reason.
#1 is the cost of operating a studio especially when there are so many amazing spaces to rent for my commercial shoots. For me the BIG reason for having a studio is really about a place for control.
#2 is letting go of the feeling that I need control. True on commercial shoots where you need a place for crew, clients, props and wardrobe and a large space for setup it is a must but that is not what my personal work is about.
#3 for me having the expense of a studio made feel like I needed to use it all the time which put stress on me to shoot there when all I really wanted to be was out in the world shooting. Simply put makes me feel tied down.
#4 this is a double edged sword. I feel if you are not careful you become a one trick pony, in the commercial world that is somewhat embraced. Please please, I am not knocking those that can do the same thing day after day but it's just not my thing. I love mixing it up a bit.
#5 is daylight is so so beautiful !

It's a little past midnight on a very very rainy night. The quiet is a bit daunting, couldn't help but to take a picture out the window. The harbor is slowly filling in, a sign that warm weather is almost here to stay.
iPhone snap before the rain hit this AM, one of my likes as a skyline view. This is my typical turn around point to head back north on my weekday rides. Such a great place to relax and do what ya like to do. Milton Lee Olive Park Would be an amazing location to pilot a drone if it's allowed.
